Homewares queen’s ‘spectacular’ $12m move
This Sydney homewares queen has put her ‘spectacular sanctuary’ up for grabs and is now looking for the next big project.
A Double Bay homewares queen has put the ‘spectacular sanctuary’ she created up for sale and is now looking for her next project.
Maree Conley, who set up her Conley + Co furniture and interiors business at 18 Transvaal Ave many years ago, has an $11.5m guide on the four-bedroom apartment at 2/34 Drumalbyn Rd, Bellevue Hill with Richard Faludi of Raine and Horne Double Bay and Clint Ballard of Sotheby’s.
Records show the apartment last traded for $1.95m in 2014.
“It’s been completely gutted and beautifully designed — everything’s super high-end,” says Faludi.
“The view is pretty sensational.”

An $8.4m house close by in the same street has recently settled in Conley’s name, which suggests that was the motivation for the sale but she says that’s for her daughter.
“She’s looking for her next challenge,” Faludi says.
“During her heyday, she decorated the homes of many wealthy celebrities but now she’s focusing on her own projects.”
The whole-floor residence is described as a “rare offering”, with high ceilings and period features with curved Crittal windows and “north-facing views towards Manly from every seat in the room”.
“Versailles parquetry floors and a 19th century French Carrara marble mantelpiece exhibit a Parisian-style sophistication, further echoed by the artistry on display in the bedrooms and bathrooms,” the marketing spiel advises.

The apartment is in a boutique block of five whole-floor apartments.
Faludi listed the apartment just before Christmas and says there’s been “quite a bit of inquiry”.
“There’s this herd mentality that you have to list properties post-Australia Day,” he said.
“But if you get it up before that you’re one of the few rather than one of the many, and that’s a good thing!”
Faludi says he’s expecting 2025 to be strong.
“I’m predicting a positive year — there’s talk of interest rate cuts and there’s the potential for that to come sooner than expected,” he said.
“Even just the talk of that will drive sentiment and I’m expecting supply levels to stay relatively low.”
