“We didn’t have a lot of room to play with it - people are gobsmacked what we fitted on the block,” he said.

“There weren’t many problems that we faced building the home over the pandemic but we had to be careful we didn’t contravene anything — it all came together very well, we were lucky as builders to have connections.

“To build on a block in Mildura is quite different, it’s a great place to entertain and our family have loved it when they come to visit.

Amanda said her and Peter purchased a new development right on Christie’s Beach to be closer to family.

“We built this place as our forever home - we were semi-retired and Pete is a builder, he put himself right into it and became a showpiece of his abilities,” she said.

“We’re going to miss the fact we did this place ourselves, our new home is bought off the plan.

“Our stress levels were going through the roof prior to the sale - we got an offer we were really happy with.

The home comes fit with multiple options for a master bedrooms downstairs or upstairs both fit with a walk-in-robe.

Outside, a chick-alfresco area coupled with a fully automated and heated in-ground pool for year round use adds extra flair to the property.

It also boasts close proximity to the Mildura CBD and the arts and river precinct.

Barry Plant Mildura director Brenton Love said Mildura is up and coming and the Cornell Lane home’s lane frontage was unmatched.

“It’s definitely one of the best built properties I’ve seen in my 15 years of real estate — the quality is unmatched,” Mr Love said.

“A lot of professionals were interested in the home, it was positioned well for retirees but I’ve noticed a lot of the younger generation wanting to move here.

“A young doctor has purchased the home - he loves helping out the community, he’s into the sporting scene and well respected.”
