CEO’s $120K supercar gift for sick kids
Culture Kings founder Simon Beard and former refugee turned real estate richlister Emil Juresic are among Lamborghini owners whose annual charity ride raised $120,000 for sick kids.
Two Queensland entrepreneurs led a spectacular show of horsepower and heart, driving a multimillion-dollar supercar convoy that raised $120,000 for sick kids.
While flashy cars aren’t typically associated with charity, NGU Real Estate boss Emil Juresic and Culture Kings founder Simon Beard put their Lamborghinis to work in support of the Starlight Children’s Foundation.
Mr Juresic praised the generosity of business leaders from diverse industries, who each donated at least $1000 to join the One Life Club SuperDive from the Gold Coast to Brisbane.
About 50 cars took part in the drive, showcasing a jaw-dropping collection of luxury models, including the sleek orange and black Lamborghini Ultimaes owned by Mr Juresic and Mr Beard, each valued at $1.3m.
Brisbane developer and philanthropist Mr Juresic implored other entrepreneurs to use their success for good this festive season.
“The people who drive these Lamborghinis and Ferraris and Porsches are all doing very well, and every Christmas I try to remind them, it’s time for us to give back,” Mr Juresic said.
“It is a fast-paced world we live in and one focused on achieving success, but sometimes it is important to stop and donate to people in need. I push other business people to do the same.”
Mr Beard, who has branched into mentoring up-and-coming entrepreneurs, built Culture Kings with wife Tah-nee from a flea market stall into a global street wear juggernaut valued at $US600.
