They are some of Rugby League’s State of Origin’s biggest stars, so it’s only fitting they also have some of the game’s slickest homes.
Here they are.
STEPHEN CRICHTON
In January last year as Stephen Crichton announced his departure from the Panthers to the Bulldogs, it also emerged he had just bought a new home in the Penrith area.
According to property records, Crichton bought a new home in Tregear, which sits a few suburbs across from Penrith proper, 36 km west of Sydney’s CBD.
CoreLogic reports the 5-bedroom home, which sits on a generous 620 sqm in a “whisper quiet, much sought-after” street in the small suburb close to amenities and transport, was sold on December 5, 2022 for $848,500.
The home had been completely renovated prior to its sale and boasts a massive rear yard, perfect for backyard footy. It’s the perfect family home and comes with the possibility of adding a granny flat.
According to respected Rugby League writer Phil Rothfield, who first reported the sale of the house to the Panthers’ outside back, Crichton bought the home for his parents and family.
“Everything is new, Nothing left to do but to move in!” the marketing collateral for the home read.

The Rabbitohs superstar owns a cracking contemporary pad in the south of Sydney in Chifley.
In August 2022, Mitchell snapped up the near new luxury entertainer for $4,275,000 through McGrath Estate Agents, topping the low-key suburb’s prices at the time.
Mitchell posted the sale to his Instagram, with an image of his wife, Brielle Mercy and his two children in front of the sold sign with the caption “making moves”. The post was quickly deleted, though not before teammate Cody Walker jestingly offered to move in.

JAKE AND TOM TRBOJEVIC
Savvy investors the Trbojevic brothers have amassed an impressive portfolio, despite their youth, of seven properties across Sydney’s northern beaches worth at least $6.65 million.
The NSW stars recently spent $964,000 each on a house and land package in Warriewood’s Fern Creek estate, three doors away from one other.
Tom, 27, and Jake, 30, began buying property in 2014 when Jake spent $680,000 on a two-bedroom Narrabeen flat, followed up by a one-bed flat in Brookvale two years later for $590,000.
In July, Jake bought another $1.55 million unit in Narrabeen. Tom’s first purchase was a two-bed unit in Manly for $895,000 in 2016, followed by a $1 million two-bed unit in Manly.
FELISE KAUFUSI
Dolphins star Felise Kaufusi’s new Queensland is the envy of plenty in the Sunshine State.
The former Storm backrower smashed a suburb house price record on the northside of Brisbane in September 2022 as he readied himself to join the NRL’s newest team.
Kaufusi, 32, who became an instant cult figure with Dolphins fans courtesy of his bone-crunching tackling, bought one of the most beautiful homes in the Banyo area for $1.6m – a four bedroom classic Queenslander built just over 100 years ago.
The fully renovated home has stunning pitched timber ceilings, VJ walls, restored original windows, plantation shutters, spotted gum timber floors, pressed tin ceilings, and luxury Hamptons-style finishes.
JAROME LUAI
Penrith player maker Jarome Luai owns a cracking home in the Penrith area.
Sitting on two levels, Luai’s ideal family home has five bedrooms. The master bedroom, on the second level, has a walk-in wardrobe and ensuite. Its rear alfresco terrace overlooks the 645sq m gardens.
It comes with several formal and informal living areas, plus multipurpose rooms which were marketed as being suitable for a gym, music room or library.
BEN HUNT
St George Dragons star halfback Ben Hunt and his nutritionist wife Bridget bought a holiday letting home in the Byron Bay hinterland in May.
They spent $2.7m on an acreage in Newrybar, near Bangalow.
The 20ha property has been a luxury farm stay in the portfolio of local entrepreneur Norm Black, co-owner of TripADeal and his accommodation superhost wife Fiona.
It had been initially listed at $2,950,000 after the Blacks had renovated the three-bedroom homestead following its $1.9m purchase in 2021 from Transport NSW.
It became part of their Black Cockatoo Retreats portfolio that includes farmstays in Coorabell and Bangalow. Rented at just shy of $1500 a night, the house has four bedrooms with two living areas, with views to Mount Warning.
The Blacks added a hot tub next to the swimming pool. There is a four-bay machinery shed with a self-contained studio.
