Inside James Packer’s opulent $60 million Sydney home | Photos
New photos of Aussie billionaire businessman James Packer’s mind-blowingly opulent new Barangaroo home have emerged.
James Packer will convert two levels of his One Barangaroo tower into his own private apartment – and he’s paid a staggering sum for the privilege.
The casino mogul paid $60 million for levels 48 and 49 at Crown Residences at One Barangaroo tower, which will become an opulent six-bedroomm 1340sq m dwelling.
It was originally supposed to be six separate apartments before Mr Packer snapped up the space in late 2017, breaking the record for Sydney’s most expensive apartment at the time.
Now he’s finally scored approval for the plan, with architects WilkinsonEyre and Bates Smart signing on to the project late last year.
It has been given the green light by the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment after Crown Resorts lodged an application for “the amalgamation of apartments into a single duplex apartment” which was “necessary due to a specific buyer request”.
The project is expected to be finished next year, and Mr Packer’s luxury home will boast six bedrooms along with a cinema and gym.
The tower has attracted a slew of uber wealthy residents, with hoteliers Sandy and Angelo Elliott buying into One Barangaroo for $20 to $30 million.
Retired bookie Bob Blann also paid Australia’s third-highest off-the-plan apartment price in the One Barangaroo complex, shelling out $40 million plus for the entire 61st floor in One Barangaroo, securing a 515sq m apartment.
Investment banker Trevor Rowe also bought a three-bedroom apartment on the upper floors of the complex with views of Sydney Harbour.
Apart from their own opulent homes, residents of the tower will have access to Crown Sydney’s hotel services such as bed linen changing and the option to hire a private chef.
There are also a string of high-end amenities including pools and gyms, the Crown Spa and a number of restaurants and bars.
