Ellen DeGeneres adds $11.5m Beverly Hills mansion to $94.5m property portfolio
Ellen DeGeneres has just dropped $US8.5m on a Beverly Hills mid-century home, as she and wife Portia de Rossi surpass more than $450m worth of property moves together.
Ellen DeGeneres has dropped $US8.5m ($11.5m) on a mid-century Beverly Hills home, the Post reports.
The embattled talk show host has about $US70m worth of real estate – paid for with profits made as she and wife Portia de Rossi bought and sold $450m in homes over the past 17 years.
DeGeneres’s new five-bedroom house in the Hidden Valley Estates was built in 1961 by famed architect Robert Skinner and has been completely restored by architect John Bertram with designer Sarah Shetter, according to Realtor.com.

Architect Bruce D. Becket purchased the home in 1967 and owned it until 2012, when talent agent Gregory Cavic and his wife Jessica – whose parents founded Soap Opera Digest – snapped it up for $3.5m, according to Los Angeles County records.
Today, the abode has an open floorplan, glass walls, Douglas fir cabinets, terrazzo flooring, Calacatta Gold and salt marble countertops, and a chef’s kitchen, according to the listing.
The 1700sq m lot has a courtyard entry, a pool and lush gardens designed by Judy Kameon of Elysian Landscapes.
To get to DeGeneres’ new house, you have to pass Adele’s new $US9.95m home, which formerly belonged to Nicole Richie. Meanwhile, Katy Perry unloaded a $7.47m house at the end of the street, real estate records show.
DeGeneres, 63, will bow out of her talk show next year, she announced in May, saying the decision was not a result of toxic workplace allegations levelled against her.
