Even if you’re a tech billionaire like Mike Cannon-Brookes, getting a discounted home buy must be something of a thrill.
Tech billionaire Mike Cannon-Brookes and wife Annie continue their buyup in the Southern Highlands.
They have bought the Bowral trophy home, Hathaway, for $3m.
Cannon-Brookes secured the home for considerably less than its $3.45m price guidance from Ray White Bowral, who’d been marketing the home for about two months.

It was trading for the first time since 2008 when it sold for $905,000.
The 1930s Tudoresque home comes with a steep pitched roof, timber-adorned gables and exposed brick trim. It retains its original floor plan with five bedrooms.
There are a number of sitting rooms, along with a home office with a separate entry.
Its living spaces, which have fireplaces, open through french doors to its garden. There’s a barn studio at the end of the driveway.
By our running tally, the Atlassian co-founder’s acquisitions in the Highlands now exceed $113m and cover more than 1005ha, much as a regenerative agricultural enterprise that is orientated to increasing carbon in the soil and planting trees.
Cannon-Brookes’ first buy in the Highlands was the 390ha Joadja Creek Farm for $3.3m in 2016.

According to PropTrack the median house price in Bowral is $1.65m, up 3.1 per cent over the past 12 months.
