A networking event for women in real estate is coming to Townsville for the first time, aiming to connect women across the industry.

The Canapes and Conversation event is being hosted by Leading Ladies in Real Estate, an organisation that seeks to empower women working in property.

Queensland Chair, Sally Patch said the Townsville affair would be the first time they hosted an event outside of a capital city.

“We are thrilled to bring Leading Ladies of Real Estate to Townsville,” she said.

“Our events are designed to connect women in the real estate industry across Australia and New Zealand.

“We hold in person events throughout the year as well as a monthly podcast where we hear from women all over the industry sharing their stories.”

The Townsville event will be held at The Metropole Hotel on Thursday, July 18, with Allison Gough, of Ray White Townsville, Leanne Druery, of RE/MAX Select Mackay, and Rebecca Logan, of Renting Here, as guest speakers.

“These ladies are all hyper connected with their communities, excelling professionally and will share their career journeys with us,” Ms Patch said.

“We will also be joined by Paula Pool and Demelza Gardem from the Fuel For Schools charity to talk about the good work they are doing and the impact of community supporting community.”

Ms Patch said Leading Ladies communities could be found in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and New Zealand.

“Leading Ladies of Real Estate is an industry-wide initiative focused on building a community that supports and inspires women in the industry to chase their potential – both personally and professionally,” she said.

“This community is not at all about the exclusion of men, but it is about a focus on women.

“You can’t be what you can’t see, and we want to make strong, successful and ambitious women more visible.

“Leading Ladies seeks to do this through empowering incredible women in real estate to share their journeys with others.”

Ms Patch said during the past three years Leading Ladies welcomed more than 3000 women to in-person events across Australia and New Zealand, and reached thousands more through its podcast.

The Leading Ladies in Real Estate Conversation and Canapes networking event is on from 6pm, Thursday, July 18, at The Metropole Townsville.

Tickets are $80 and can be purchased from leadingladies.realestate.
