It was taken to auction by Place Ascot agents Drew Davies and Guy Horsley who were blown away by the interest.
Mr Davies said the response was “unbelievable” with 24 registered bidders.
“It was the most registered bidders we’ve seen for a single auction in recent times.”
The owner had bought the property which was built in 1970 for just $44,000 44 years ago.
The property at 1/78 Wagner Road, Clayfield, sold for $660,000 in a suburb where the median price for two bedroom units has jumped 19 per cent in the past year to $545,000.

Located within 10km of Brisbane CBD, Mr Davies said it drew a “diverse range of buyers from young local first home buyers, downsizers, investors and DIY-ers looking to flip”.
