According to the latest data from realestate.com.au, property seekers from regions such as Auckland (New Zealand), Canterbury (NZ), Hong Kong and Wellington (NZ) are actively exploring real estate opportunities in the city.

The Gold Coast is the top area of interest for overseas searchers, closely followed by Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

The main attraction of living in coastal Queensland are the beautiful beaches, which are undoubtedly desirable for overseas searchers.

And even those choosing Brisbane as their home are only ever a short distance from the beach.

Other areas that are in high demand are Cairns, Townsville and Noosa.

The most searches for Queensland properties come from New Zealand, the United States and the United Kingdom, who are largely attracted by the similar lifestyle, language and social infrastructure as they have at home.

When it comes to the country that prefers Queensland over all other regions of Australia, New Zealand wins hands down.

Of the top 10 locations searched from prospective buyers in New Zealand, half of them are in Queensland.

Their most popular locations are the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Sunshine Coast, all of which have large Kiwi populations.

Searchers from the United Kingdom are equally enamoured by Queensland, with Brisbane their most popular destination, even beating Sydney and Melbourne.

No matter where property seekers come from, Queensland offers a superior quality of life and is popular for its cosmopolitan nature.
