LEGENDARY rock band Regurgitator formed in the studio of this Bardon house.

The worker’s cottage is also where the idea for one of Brisbane’s favourite restaurants flourished.

Lien Yeomans sold Green Papaya in 2007 and now she’s decided it’s time to sell the home she’s owned for almost 35 years.

Ms Yeomans’ famous musician son Quan kicked off his career in what was the old garage at 40 Coopers Camp Rd.

“I wrote all of the early songs downstairs on a 4-track tape machine,” Mr Yeomans said.

“Mum let me set up full drum kits and amplifiers and I made a racket.

“My base player came downstairs and saw me tinkering away and that’s what kicked it (Regurgitator) off.”

The property has been a hub of artistic talent over the years.

“It is where both Quan and I felt inspired and creative,” Ms Yeomans said.

“This is where the band Regurgitator started and flourishes; this is where my Green Papaya grew from.

“This where I wrote and have my book accepted and published by Random House, this is where Polyester Girl and many of the songs for Regurgitator were composed, mastered and I was mostly the first person to listen to them.”

Following the sale of Green Papaya, Ms Yeomans opened up a cooking school business on the property which had undergone major renovation to the dining room, kitchen and living area.

“So from 2008-2016, I had been living and working from home,” Ms Yeomans said.

“My guests at Chef’s Table included QAG CEO, artistic directors of the Paris Ballet Company, the New York Ballet Company, the French ambassador and a Queensland Premier.”

A separate self-contained cottage was built in the back garden.

“I designed the house in such a way that when my family wished to come and live in Brisbane, they can have the main house and I have the cottage,” Ms Yeomans said.

“But this had not happened and we decided to share a house in Melbourne instead.

“I wished I don’t have to move but a chance to experience life with family and playing with a clever grandson (is) worth all the pain of moving.”

Space Property Agents’ Judi O’Dea is marketing the sale of Ms Yeomans’ home which is scheduled to go to auction on Saturday, November 26 at 11.30am.
