Luxury homes and apartments in Queensland with the high-end properties in hot demand.
QUALITY short-stay accommodation sees families happy to pay as much as $12,000 a week for a large coastal home.
HOLIDAYMAKERS are paying more than $1000 a day to rent luxury homes and apartments in Queensland with the high-end properties in hot demand.
Interest for quality short-stay accommodation has gone from strength to strength with families happy to pay as much as $12,000 a week for a large coastal home.
Prestige Holiday Homes owner Vicky Dinsmore said renters were more than happy to pay for the luxury accommodation on the Sunshine Coast.
“We have a range of price points and at Christmas it can go from about $2000 a week up to $12,000 a week depending on the house or apartments,” she said.
“More than anyone else its families who are the biggest renters of those more expensive homes because they’re so big and can sleep up to 10 to 14 people.
“As a bonus that means you divide the money up making a luxury riverfront villa a lot more affordable to rent.
“Some of our best listings are prize homes so these are the real cream of the crop.”
Ms Dinsmore said many families asked for homes with the best in kitchen fittings and fixtures.
“With the advent of masterchef and those kind of things people really want to cook and have people over while on holidays,” she said.
“Because of that homes with big kitchens and great entertaining areas are always popular.
“For a lot of people that’ll be the first they want to know about along with other necessities like a barbecue or a beer fridge.”
Ms Dinsmore said there was demand for the rentals throughout the year.
“Over Christmas and New Years we’re always completely booked out but school holidays are also really busy,” she said.
“We still get enquiries all year round with some people asking about next year’s summer already.
“The homes owners really enjoy renting their places because they have the flexibility to opt-in over Christmas or rent the place out whenever they like.”
One rental, known as Rainbow Lane, near Golden Beach has been particularly popular with holidays after winning the award for 2013 HIA Sunshine Coast home of the year.
In peak season the resort-style house has a weekly rate of $9450 with high-end features including luxurious pool, spa and entertaining area and a pontoon providing direct access to the Pumicestone Passage.
