Failed group's pub on market
ANOTHER asset in the failed SSI Group portfolio, Townsville's Seaview Hotel, is on the market.
ANOTHER asset in the failed SSI Group portfolio, Townsville's Seaview Hotel, is on the market.
The hotel and a large adjoining land allotment are being offered for sale through Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels, under directions from Deloitte.
The Seaview Hotel on The Strand has an ocean front outlook with views to Magnetic Island and Castle Hill.
It has a large bar and beer garden, gaming room with 35 machines, a drive through and on-site bottle shop.
The entire site, including the adjoining vacant land, is 12,136sq m and it has three street frontages.
SSI, which was the umbrella organisation for the electronic and entertainment retail chain WOW Sight & Sound, went into receivership in 2010.
JLL Hotels' Paul Fraser said the asset gave a purchaser the opportunity to own the hotel as a going concern with its ongoing cash flow.
"The vacant block has an ocean outlook and offers an incredible potential opportunity for an astute buyer,'' he said.
The property is being sold by way of an Expressions of Interest, which closes on August 30.
