Boaties put a stop to a riverfront auction with a massive $20.5m bid after they saw sale signs going up while out on the water.
Agents had been setting up for the upcoming auction event when all activity ground to a halt thanks to the whopping offer 10 times the previous sale price for the property in popular holiday zone Noosa.
Property records name the property’s owner as having paid $2m for the home 25 years ago, before knocking it down and building a stunning designer home on site for his family.

Tom Offermann of Tom Offermann Real Estate said ”our in-house media team and agents were on the waterside of 40 Noosa Parade on Noosa Sound filming when a long-term client passing by in a boat spotted them and asked them if it was coming to market. “Yes it sure is, it’s going to auction!”
“There was no hesitation, and within a day unconditional contracts were signed on a purchase for $20.5m to the delight of both parties, and happy Offermann agents Nic Hunter and Tiffany Wilson.”
Mr Hunter had described the home as having all the elite trimmings that are coveted in Noosa – being an “absolute riverfront address on tightly held Noosa Parade, on the doorstep of glamorous Hastings Street”.
The massive offer was a “knockout” and the five bedroom, four bathroom house at 40 Noosa Parade, Noosa Heads, has now settled after a four month settlement period.
