Brisbane Broncos superstar and State of Origin player Reece Walsh has secured a sprawling Gold Coast estate with eight bedrooms and a standout entertaining zone.
The 21-year-old rugby league fullback snapped up the 5433 sqm property for $1.88m after the owners dropped their asking price to “meet the market”, according to the sale listing.
Described as a haven for multigenerational living or a savvy investment opportunity, the estate located on the city’s northern fringe comprised three separate dwellings in a bush setting.
It had been on the market since 2022 with several different agencies, previously with an asking price of $2m.
News of the deal comes ahead of Reece’s anticipated return to play this weekend, after missing Magic Round due to injury.
The popular NRL player has been battling a knee injury but is expected to take the No.1 jersey when the Maroons lineup for the State of Origin series opener is announced next week.

The main Federation-style house had been renovated and has five bedrooms, two bathrooms and a study, with a large open-plan living and dining area and stylish kitchen with an island bench and servery window.
A pool and al fresco area enclosed in a fully screened Florida room created an ideal space for year-round entertaining, while a covered patio wrapped around the home.
Two guesthouses were accessed via a separate driveway — one with two bedrooms, the other one — and there was also a large shed with space for a home office or gym, as well as a private dam.
Property records show the 1992-built home in a rural-residential zone last changed hands for $782,000 in 2015, while the two-bedroom flat was listed for rent at $499 a week in 2023.
PropTrack data shows house prices in the suburb were up 8 per cent over the past year, to a median of $830,500.
