An Unley property is the crowning jewel of builder Jason Andrews career, and has been a sensational family home for him, his wife Julie and their two daughters.

The couple bought the 58 Frederick St home in April 2017 as a renovator’s delight and have since spared no expense in creating a home they are extremely proud of.

“I’ve been eyeballing this place since we bought our first home 20-odd years ago in Porter St,” Mr Andrews says.

“We’d be walking the dog and we said if it ever came up we’d get it, and we were lucky that we were able to get it when it did and the timing was just perfect. We’re builders and every house we do is different and commands a different style of build. We really threw everything at this one and pushed the boundaries with it. There’s literally nothing else that we could have done with this house – it’s got a real understated elegance about it.”

And throw everything at it they did. “We’re amazingly proud of how it’s turned out – it’s the pinnacle of what we’ve done,” Mr Andrews says. “Building for other people over the past 20 years, you’re limited by clients and their budgets, but this one here had no limits. It was going to cost what it was going to cost because we had our heart set on certain elements and were zeroed in on those finishes.

“I’m incredibly fussy and have an eye for detail, and given the location it couldn’t be half done – everything’s really sharp. It warranted it because this is, in our opinion, the best spot in Unley. We wanted a great entertaining house, space for our girls, space for our girls’ friends to be able to come over, and we wanted a house with a great atmosphere, a northern rear extension, lots of sunlight, space and storage.”

The couple now have their sights set on their next exciting project and have absolutely no plans to depart their beloved 5061 postcode.

“We’ve lived in 5061 for the past 20 years, so our next project will be around the corner or down the street – we have no intentions of leaving this area because we love it here,” Mr Andrews said.
