Rundown cottage gets an impressive makeover

Built in 1910, an old cottage has been lovingly restored as a country-style classic home with multiple living spaces.

Dream homes topping buyers' searches

The resurrection of a dilapidated cottage and custom creation of a stunning Heathfield family entertainer has been a dream come true for Lisa Ward and Glynn Flaherty, who started their adventure with the property in 2018.

The couple restored the 1910 three-bedroom cottage at 23 Heathfield Rd and lived in it while they brought their vision for a grand character home to life – creating a four-bedroom country-style classic with multiple living spaces, and the property complete with a swimming pool and offering views out over the Mt Lofty towers.

“We are immensely grateful to have had the opportunity to be in this sanctuary of a place, especially during the restrictions,” Ms Ward says.

“As stunning as the home is and as proud of it and the incredible tradespeople who brought it to life as we are, the location is amazing too – we’re a short walk into Aldgate and we can also walk into Stirling.”

The home sits on a 1.21ha property complete with an orchard, raised garden beds, a dam, and a landscaped country garden perfect for an afternoon stroll. “We are sad to leave but will passing this wonderful place on to someone else to share with family and friends, and to make their own memories,” Ms Ward says.
