New data has revealed the most sought-after street addresses in the state. Find out if your neighbourhood made it to the top 10.
With its classic stone-fronted villas, a quiet tree-lined street in Adelaide’s most expensive suburb has emerged as the most sought-after address among househunters.
Avenel Gardens Rd in Medindie is where buyers are most keen to home in, according to a new report by realestate.com.au that lists SA’s top 10 most popular streets for buyers.
It also took out second spot on national listings that drove the most views, according to the report.
The rankings were based on the most views per listing in the last three years.
As the most popular street in the state, homes on Avenel Gardens Rd had an automated value modelled at $2,871,000, and the street has garnered 31,213 views for every property listed for sale there, the data reported.
The other street to make the national list was Old Mount Barker Rd in Aldgate, which finished eighth with properties clocking more than 16,000 views and a median sale value of $1,492,900. Buyers are also making a beeline to the Hills, with Upper Sturt Rd in Upper Sturt SA’s third most desired location.
Located just minutes away from the trendy Hill towns of Stirling and Crafers, homes on Upper Sturt Road have recorded over 15,500 views per listing.
Toop+Toop’s Sally Cameron has already sold three properties on Avenel Gardens Rd in the last year – and has listed her fourth.
“It is an exceptionally pretty, tree-lined, wide and quiet street with beautiful homes,” Ms Cameron said.
“Properties sit on big blocks and rarely come up for sale. So when they do, it catches everyone’s attention. The quality of homes, the lifestyle on offer and the proximity to the city makes this a very appealing address indeed.”
Well-known architect David Burton, his wife, Jane, and their two sons have lived at No. 16 Avenel Gardens Rd for 16 years – but have now listed it for sale.
“It’s a fantastic enclave of homes in a lovely, quiet street,” Mr Burton said.
His wife added: “It’s a lovely place to raise kids with proximity to good schools and the parklands. The natural surroundings and the fact that you can walk to the city make it truly unique.”
Beachside suburbs were conspicuous by their absence on the list. With over 12,500 views, Adams Road in Craigmore had secured a spot. With a median value of $408,000, it was the most affordable address as well.
