Most-viewed SA home nationally sold before auction
This beautiful South Plympton character home with a modern extension was on the market for just two weeks.
A charming character home in Adelaide’s southwest, which had been stylishly renovated and extended by the vendors, has sold before auction to a local buyer.
The four-bedroom home at 56 William St, South Plympton, which was scheduled to go to auction this weekend, has been sold for $1,280,000.
Incidentally, the home was also the most-viewed property scheduled for auction this weekend on realestate.com.au, having topped the national list.
Selling agent Brad Allan of Allan Real Estate who presented the property to market with Mark Patterson said the blend of old and new certainly caught the attention of buyers.
“The property was very well responded to and we had over 100 groups come in during the course of the campaign,” Mr Allan said.
“The home is a good blend of character with modern styling through the rear. The modern extension was very appealing to buyers. The high ceilings, the natural light coming in … were also nice selling features.
“There were people who came in keen to purchase as well as look at the renovation for ideas.”
Boasting well-maintained gardens, the circa 1900-character symmetrical cottage has a wide central entry hallway leading the way.
Credit to the vendors for keeping the old world charm while adding modern additions. The highlight of the home is the open plan living and dining area and kitchen which further leads to the rear lawn and an all-weather alfresco living area.
Raked ceilings, heated concrete flooring, in-ground swimming pool, a cubby house and a state-of-the-art kitchen would have caught buyer attention as well.
The master bedroom comes with built-in robes and ensuite while a new main bathroom serviced the other three bedrooms.
According to PropTrack data, the median house price in South Plympton was $730,000. Prices were up by 27 per cent in the last 12 months, the data reported.
