If it’s waterfront living you’re looking for, it doesn’t come anymore impressive, or exciting, than this stunning 19 Cygnet Court, Glenelg North, property.

Vendors Callum and Karen have owned the home since its construction, with the couple moving in 2008 and loving every single moment since.

“We had previously lived on the Esplanade at Somerton Park but the problem there is that when the sun goes down the view goes away and there’s nothing to look at, whereas here there’s a lot to entertain you,” Callum says.

“The location is amazing and over the years we’ve had people come through and be blown away by the views – you get used to it after a while and you don’t realise just what an amazing thing you have here until somebody new comes in and says: ‘Wow!’ and then you’re reminded that, ‘oh yeah, this really is something very special.’

“We had complete control over the design and my wife designed most of it and we had it drawn up.

“We really wanted to make the views a prominent feature of the property and we wanted to take in those panoramic vistas from the Hills right round to the marina and seashore.

“There are so many boats coming and going and you can be sitting in your living room at night and 10m away a mast goes by.

“It’s such a peaceful home and very calming and soothing to be surrounded by water and have it shimmering onto the ceilings – water just has that effect.”

And then there’s their friend, June.

“This baby dolphin, June, started coming into the marina with his mum eight years ago when he was born,” Callum says.

“She disappeared about four years ago, but he still comes up near the house practically every day and sometimes brings a friend and he tail slaps and snorts and splashes to get our attention. He’s amazingly smart and very special.”

Set over three levels on a 660sqm allotment, the no-expense-spared home offers 874sqm of indoor and outdoor living and has garaging for five, a lift, five bedrooms, multiple internal and alfresco entertainment areas and a sparkling in-ground swimming pool.

“We couldn’t put an ordinary home in this location, so we threw everything at it – I’d hate to try and build it today at today’s prices, it would be eye-watering,” Callum says.

“My daughter lived here for a while, but it’s just my wife and I and our small dog here now, and we’re in our seventies so it’s time to downsize.

“We’re really sad to be leaving, but it’s nice to give another family the opportunity to enjoy it.”

The property is listed with a $5.5m to $6m price tag and expressions of interest close at noon on Thursday, March 21.
