“The poles featured throughout are turpentine and were grown and farmed in Fraser Island, which you’re not allowed to do now, and were used as the pier in Darling Harbour. A man in Echuca salvaged them, and I went to Echuca with a semi-trailer and brought them back here.”
The three-level home has four bedrooms, an open-plan kitchen dining and living area and an expansive balcony for outdoor entertaining.
“When I bought the land it only had 30 trees on it, and now it’s got 6000,” Ms Powlesland says. “This has been my spiritual home and I’m sure someone else will love it too.”
