It’s a reality TV show that not only shows off the culinary skills of its contestants but also where their homes are turned into “instant restaurants”.

Representing Team SA in Season 7 of My Kitchen Rules was Lauren Rose, or Rosie as she was known as on the show, and her friend Paige Rohrlach.

Ms Rose’s home at 15 Mabel Street, Plympton, which she has recently listed for sale, featured in two episodes on the show, and saw the two rustle up a treat for the judges and fellow contestants.

“It truly was a once in a lifetime experience,” Ms Rose said.

“The TV crew took over the entire house and the kitchen was a hub of activity,” she said.

Featuring a huge window, wooden benchtops and state of the art appliances, the kitchen is one of her favourite areas in the three-bedroom house.

“I love the character of the home. It’s got beautiful decorative ceilings and I also love the street appeal. It’s a lovely neighbourhood as well,” she said.

While a formal living room features an ornate fireplace and polished wooden floors, the main family room has vaulted ceilings with exposed beams and another fireplace. All the bedrooms are generous in space, fully-carpeted and have built-in robes.

Gardening enthusiasts will appreciate the rear garden, which Ms Rose informed, has been redone.

“We had a landscape gardener design it for us and then we did it ourselves,” she said.

Apart from a large garden shed, three rainwater tanks, a firepit and established garden beds, there’s also a generously sized verandah with a ceiling fan and decking – the perfect spot to entertain and host BBQ evenings.

“Having lived here for nine years, we were looking for a tree change. We have purchased a property in McLaren Vale where I am keen to get back to cooking and perhaps start a bed and breakfast.”

The home, which has been presented to market by Adam Keane of Ray White Glenelg, is scheduled for auction on October 8.
