A record lottery prize in Australia is now up for grabs after Powerball jackpotted to $200m after there was no winner of Thursday’s draw.

Powerball’s $150 million jackpot to be drawn on Thursday

A record $200m will be up for grabs at next week’s Powerball draw after there was no winner in Thursday’s game.

The record jackpot comes after no players held a division one winning entry in Powerball draw 1445, prompting the game’s prize to roll higher for the sixth consecutive week.

The numbers needed to win Thursday’s $150m Powerball lottery, which was the second biggest lottery prize in Australian history, were: 21, 9, 27, 6, 1, 26, 4. The Powerball was: 10

It’s estimated that half of all adult Australians bought a ticket in Thursday’s Powerball.

Despite the number of entries, there was no winner of the jackpot.

A total of 5,102,570 prizes worth more than $103m were won in divisions two to nine.

Among these winners, there were 26 division two winners, who each took home a prize of $110,213.60. These winners were just one number shy of taking home the multi-million-dollar prize.

The Lott spokesman James Eddy said Powerball was excited to welcome the record-breaking draw.

“The new year has brought with it an incredible opportunity for Australian lottery players – the chance to change their lives and become the largest lottery winner in the history of Australian lotteries,” he said.

“It’s unfathomable what winning even just a slice of next week’s $200m Powerball division one prize would do for you this year and for the rest of your life.

“I know I’m excited, so I can imagine Australian lottery players are rubbing their hands together at the thought of bagging $200m and taking home the crown as the largest lottery winner in Australian history.”

It was revealed earlier this year that most common winning numbers are 17, 7, 11, 2, 3 and 9.

However, those with the numbers 33, 15, 34, 31, 26 and 1 may not be as lucky; as they are less frequently drawn.

There were 500 division one winners over the last 12 months, each taking home a share of more than $1.52bn in prize money.

While each state delivered their fair share of winners, there were a couple of suburbs that were significantly luckier than others.

In NSW, the postcode 2530 for Dapto and 2141 for Berala each sold four division one winning entries.

In Queensland, the postcode 4211 for Nerang / Pacific Pines sold three division one winning entries.

In Victoria, the postcodes 3000 for Melbourne, 3806 for Berwick, 3754 for Doreen/Mernda, and 3047 for Broadmeadows/Dallas each sold three division one winning entries.

In the ACT, the postcode of 2912 for Gungahlin sold two of the Territory’s division one prizes.

In Tasmania, the postcode 7018 for Howrah sold two division one winning entries.

In South Australia, the postcode 5162 for Woodcroft and 5095 for Mawson Lakes each sold two division one winning entries.

In Darwin, the postcode 0839 for Coolalinga delivered two of the Northern Territory’s division one prizes.

In Western Australia, the postcode 6163 for Spearwood sold three division one winning entries.

The Lott recommends players register their entry to a player card or online account to make it easier for Lott officials to contact them immediately after the draw with the life-changing news.
