A Sydney man has said his family didn’t believe him when he thought he was now a multi-millionaire after buying a last-minute ticket in the $160m powerball jackpot.

Three Aussies have won a share in the $160m Powerball winnings – the biggest lottery jackpot ever in Australian history – with one winner yet to claim their prize.

Each of the three division one winning entries will take home just over $53m, bringing the total lottery prizemoney won by Australians this year to $614m.

Lottery officials can now reveal a Penrith dad is the mystery winner from NSW who will take home a slice of the record-breaking draw.

“Really? Are you sure! Holy sh*t! This is amazing!” he yelled after an official from The Lott confirmed his life-changing win.

He only checked his entry on Friday morning and was oblivious to the fact lottery officials were on the hunt for a mystery multi-millionaire.

“I told my family, ‘I think I might have won division one,’ but no one believed me,” he said.

“Tell you what, they believe me now!”

The Penrith father said he rushed out to Cranebrook TSG on Thursday afternoon to buy the ticket, which has tipped his life upside-down.
“This means so much to me,” he said.

“I’ll finally be able to buy a home for my family, my kids can have whatever they want for Christmas, and we’re secure and set up for life.”

A blue-collar worker from Clyde shed tears of joy when lottery officials called him on Thursday to say he was the only winner in Victoria.

“Oh my god, oh my god. I can’t believe this!” he cried down the phone.

“Holy sh*t! Far out! I’m absolutely speechless.

“I never thought I’d get this phone call. This has changed my life!”

The Clyde man said he plans to retire immediately and buy a dog for his grandson for Christmas.

“He can have all the dogs in the world now!,” he said.

“I’m done with work! I’m out of here, mate. Retirement is calling.

“This is absolutely mind-blowing.”

The third winner is a Western Australian – though little is known about their identity.
