Three lucky Aussies have become instant millionaires over the weekend, after scoring the lucky numbers which led to them taking home more than $1m each in Lotto prizes.
Three lucky Australians have become instant millionaires over the weekend after taking home more than $1m each in division one Lotto prizes.
A gardener from Botany in Sydney’s south was watering his plants when he received a call from the Lott on Sunday morning informing him about his good fortune.
The man, who plays the same lucky numbers each week, said he always thought he would win one day.
“Wow! Excellent! Just excellent – that’s the best word I can use,” he said.
“I play the same numbers each week – they’re my lucky numbers, but I can’t even think why I picked them all those years ago.
“I just always thought I would (win), so that’s why I kept playing the same numbers.”
The man held one of four division one winning entries nationally in Saturday’s Lotto draw, plus a System 9 entry which scored division three 18 times, division four 45 times and division six 20 times, bolstering his total prize to $1,271,613.09.
“It means a great Christmas and 2025 for my family,” he said.
A Tattslotto winner in Victoria took home $1.2m giving his partner a delightful fright when he burst into her work to tell her the jaw dropping news.
The man from Warrnambool checked his ticket late on Saturday night, realising he had won he decided to wait until the next day to surprise his partner at work.
“I walked into her work, and thankfully no one was there, and she looked at me with confusion on her face,” he said.
“She turned to me and said: ‘What are you doing here? You look a bit faint!’
“I told her, ‘I’ve got something to tell you. We’ve won Tattslotto!’
“I had to pull out the ticket again and enter the numbers on The Lott website to prove it. Then she said: ‘Oh my f****** god!’.
“She believes me now, and she knows it’s real. But we’re both still in total shock. We don’t know what to do with the prize, but it will certainly go to good use.
“It’s definitely life-changing for us. The best feeling ever!”
A Brisbane man who found out he won $1.2m in Saturday’s Gold Lotto draw said he was looking forward to watching the cricket and flipping through a boat catalogue to celebrate his win.
The man has played Lotto for 50 years and used the same numbers made up of family’s birthdays, special occasions and football numbers.
“I still can’t believe it! This could give me a heart attack,” he said.
“What an early Christmas surprise! I might surprise a few people with this and go see the grandkids.”
