A fired-up construction boss said those struggling with rising costs shouldn’t complain because they had the life they deserved for being lazy.

A fired-up construction boss has gone on a savage social media rant slamming “lazy” Australians who “do not want to work” for a better life.

The Sydney tradie and influencer, who goes by the username ‘Dark Angel’ across his social media channels, said it was people’s own lack of work ethic that made their life hard.

In a five-minute tirade posted to TikTok, he said those struggling with cost of living pressures should stop “whinging and complaining” about rising prices and should work harder, instead.

“People in this country are so f***ing lazy, nobody wants to work,” he said, a point he would repeat throughout the rant.

His main argument was that everyone had the lives they deserved – or, simply, as his video was captioned: “YOUR LIFE S**T BECAUSE THATS (sic) ALL YOU DESERVE”.

“You deserve the life you get. If you have no money you deserve the life because it's your choice not to have money. If you have a s**t life, it’s your choice, it’s because you make the choice, you are lazy,” he said.

“We live in a lazy world, Australian people are so f***ing lazy that’s not a joke.”

He said people did not deserve to have an expensive car or house – or even “complain” about rising housing prices – if they were not willing to get off their “fat a***” and work.

And everyone, even his own employees, were in the firing line.

He slammed his “boys” for not picking up extra hours when he asks – despite paying them “top dollar” – or choosing a “lazy” job like Uber driving over working in construction. He even criticised prospective workers who asked questions about the specifics of the jobs on offer.

“They’re asking ‘Where’s the job? Do you have parking? How much do I pay a week?’ There’s so many questions, he hasn’t even started!”

This comes despite contrary expert advice about the questions you should ask during job interviews.

He said there was no need for international workers to fill job vacancies – despite saying in the same video the Uber jobs his boys were picking up “should be for foreigners” – because there was “so much work in Australia for everybody”.

“We don’t need anybody from overseas. It is so much work and anybody can make top dollars if every single one of you work hard, the way it should be, you will be on the top.”

This advice comes despite a super tight labour market, the latest data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics showing the unemployment rate at a steadily low 3.5 per cent, and an estimated 53,000 jobs being added to the market over the month.

The issue, he said, was everyone cares too much about work/life balance, even those who claim to be struggling financially.

“Life? What life you have no life. You’re struggling. What do you mean you need to have a life? You’re working 40 hours a week. You don’t want to do 50 hours a week because ‘we need to have a life’.

“You need to work harder so you can be able to afford things.”

Even renters were in Dark Angel’s sights. Specifically those who, because of rising rental costs, “choose” to move out and find cheaper accommodation – or, heaven forbid, move home with their parents – rather than “work extra hours” to pay the bills.

“Everybody whinging and complaining that they would have no money, the economy has gone bad and its very tough,” he said.

“It’s not tough, I work hard. I get up five o'clock in the morning, six days a week I’m on the job site … to have the life I have today. Nobody wants to work.”

“It’s all about the energy,” he continued, assuring watchers he was not angry but full of energy (because he woke up at 5am to workout on his day off).

“You put 110 per cent in things you will get 110 per cent in return. … but when you put 50 per cent in and 50 percent out, your life is gonna be f***ed.

“But you guys are lazy and you deserve whatever you deserve, if you have a f***ed up life that’s all you deserve.”

The video copped mixed responses, some agreeing with the video, others passing blame, while some bit back.

“I think you understand life differently. Life is not about hard working while compromising your family,” one user wrote.

“I’ll work 80 hours I don’t care, as long I’m working and making money that’s what matters,” another replied.

“Thanks for the video, that’s why I wake up at 4am every single day and finish my second job around 10pm. Six days a week, no complaint.”
