Store where mystery $60m lotto winner bought ticket revealed

If you’re from this Melbourne suburb, you may want to double check that you’re not sitting on a $60 million fortune.

Melbourne man who lost his job in covid wins $80 million Powerball

Melburnians are being urged to check their lottery tickets after nobody stepped forward as the sole winner of last night’s $60 million division one jackpot.

In a bid to learn the identity of the newly minted millionaire, lotto officials tracked down the store where the golden ticket was purchased.

So far the winner is a “mystery” as their winning entry was not registered to a player card.

At first The Lott could narrow down that they lived in Melbourne, but now the search has shrunk considerably.

The person bought their winning ticket from one of the Tatts outlets in the suburb of South Melbourne in the inner city.

Considering Melbourne had not yet exited their lockdown when the ticket was purchased, it’s likely that the player also lives in this area.

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1327 were 7, 17, 11, 28, 30, 2, 27. The Powerball number was 11.

Victorian players have six months to claim their prize directly from Tatts.

After this time, customers can submit a prize claim form to the Victorian State Revenue Office.

The win is Victoria’s second-biggest ever lottery prize.

Earlier this year, a dad from North Melbourne nabbed a $80 million prize.

“Someone has become an overnight multi-millionaire just as the city’s lockdown ended but possibly doesn’t know it yet,” The Lott spokesperson Ally Ramsamy said in a statement.

“We can’t wait for them to discover this winning news. Just imagine how $60 million might change your life and the lives of your nearest and dearest.

“There are 60 million reasons why all Melbourne players who had an entry in tonight’s draw should check their ticket immediately.

“If you discover you’re holding the division one winning entry, hold on tight to that ticket and phone 131 868 as soon as possible so that we can start the prize claim process.”

In addition to the $60 million division one winner, there were more than 2.023 million winners across divisions two to nine in tonight’s Powerball draw who collectively took home more than $34.29 million.
