The winning numbers of the first Powerball draw of 2021 are 22, 3, 17, 2, 23, 20, 7. The Powerball is 5.

Matt Hart, Lott spokesman, said the division one jackpot of $3 million could help the winner upgrade their plans for this year.

“Whatever your resolutions for the year are, they might get a helping hand by a hefty Powerball prize,” he said.

“Last year’s Powerball division one winners had all sorts of plans for their windfalls – everything from living off the grid on a big property to getting a million-dollar smile with some new teeth. Who knows what our next winners might have in mind.

“In 2020, the most Powerball division one wins shone on players in the Sunshine State, but we’ll have to wait and see whether that will be the case this year.”

On New Year’s Eve, the Powerball jackpot was won by a Wagga Wagga woman who pocketed close to $10 million.

Last year there were 14 Powerball division one winners across Australia who scored more than $470 million in prize money.

The winning entries were spread across the east coast with six landing in Queensland, five in New South Wales and three in Victoria.
