Powerball prize hits $8m with a chance to become a millionaire
It’s a life-changing amount of money on the line and one lucky winner could become a millionaire if they play their cards right.
There’s $8 million up for grabs in Powerball draw after no one held a winning ticket last week.
The last time someone won a Powerball division one prize was two weeks ago, when a Victorian player snagged $60 million.
Flowers, coffee and chocolate were how a South Melbourne couple planned to celebrate winning an incredible $60 million in Powerball, explaining they felt as though they were in a dream.
“It has been a very tough year for us – really horrible. But this changes everything,” the man said.
“It’s a dream come true. We’ve been fantasising about this moment and now it’s here and we’re multi-millionaires.”
The man said the couple planned to pay off the home loan and other debts, help the kids out and also retire.
“And we’ll have some good holidays, both interstate and overseas. We’ll definitely buy a new car and we’d love to eventually buy a new house,” he said.
“This is going to make things so much easier. It’s life-changing.”
Lauren Cooney, The Lott spokeswoman, said it’s been a massive week of wins with two division one winning entries sharing Oz Lotto’s $50 million jackpot on Tuesday night.

“It was incredible to crown a multitude of multi-millionaires with a Mackay woman snagging half the jackpot and the other half being shared by a syndicate of 10 Victorians,” she said.
“It would be amazing to cap off the week with another huge win but we will have to wait and see what happens.”
So far in 2021 there have been 13 Powerball division one winning entries who have collectively won more than $470 million.
