Moonta man wins $4.8m in Set for Life draw
A man will get $20,000 every month for the next 20 years after buying a winning lotto ticket.
A South Australian man has received a life-changing phone call telling him he’d scored $4.8m after buying the only division one winning lotto ticket.
The man from Moonta on the Yorke Peninsula bought Saturday’s winning Set for Life ticket, at Newbery Chemist in Kadina.
He will paid in instalments of $20,000 a month for the next 20 years.
The winner said he couldn’t believe the news he was hearing when an official from The Lott called to share the exciting news.
“You’re kidding me?” he said.
“You beauty! I’m starting to get really excited. I’m starting to shake.
“I have plenty of children and grandchildren so this will go to great use.
“Thank you kindly. I’m very happy with that.”
He said one of his first purchases will be a new car.
The huge win comes after three Aussies across the country each won $1m after buying a winning entry in Weekday Windfall.
Wednesday’s draw proved lucky for a young Redland Bay man in his 20s and a Thornton man from Maitland NSW who each held one of the division one winning entries.
Meanwhile, a Kooralbyn woman, who lives in the Scenic Rim in Queensland, held the only division one for Friday’s draw.
The seasoned player said she couldn’t believe her luck.
