Monster $100m Lotto jackpot up for grabs

Lotto have announced the sixth biggest Powerball prize in Australian history could be won next week as the jackpot soars to $100 million.

Adelaide man wins epic $150m Powerball prize

A whopping $100 million jackpot will be up for grabs next week after there were no winners in Thursday night’s Powerball draw.

The huge potential kitty comes after no player held all the seven winning numbers and Powerball number needed in the past four draws.

It will be the third biggest prize this year and the sixth biggest prize in Australian lottery history.

“This $100 million Powerball prize is also the sixth biggest jackpot in Australian lottery history,” The Lott spokeswoman Anna Hobdell said.

“It’s going to be a busy draw. We do expect up to half of Australian adults to have an entry in their hand”.

Tickets for the Powerball have to be purchased before 7.30pm on 22 August, AEST.

“It’s been nearly three months since Powerball last offered $100 million to Australian lottery players,” said Ms Hobdell.

“On that occasion, no one won the prize, and it eventually grew to $150 million.

“An Adelaide man took home the entire $150 million prize in May and immediately became Australia’s biggest individual lottery winner.

“We’re eagerly anticipating whether this draw will produce another division one winner or if the jackpot will continue to climb, repeating history once more.”

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1474 on Thursday 15 August 2024 were 18, 11, 28, 1, 12, 16 and 8. The all-important Powerball number was 15.

In 2023, 20 Powerball division one winning entries across Australia pocketed more than $552.15 million in prize money.

During this time, a Bankstown dad scored a $100 million jackpot and became the second-biggest Australian lottery winner of all time.

Of the 20 Powerball division one winning entries in 2023, eight landed in New South Wales, seven in Victoria, two each in South Australia and Western Australia, and one in Queensland.
