Lotto back to base with $2 million prize on offer
After last week’s $50 million jackpot was shared by players from Queensland and Western Australian, the prize is now back at base.
There’s $2 million up for grabs in the Tuesday night lottery draw.
After last week’s Oz Lotto $50 million jackpot was shared by a Queensland and Western Australian player, the prize is now back at base.
Last year, there were 18 lottery division one winning entries that collectively took home more than $279 million in prize money.
Six of these wins were in Victoria, five in NSW, three in Western Australia, two in Queensland and one each in South Australia and the Northern Territory.
Back in November, a South Australian man scored a prize similar to the money on offer tonight.
A Salisbury man in his 40s was ecstatic when he received the phone call informing him he’d won $2.4 million in Oz Lotto.
“Bloody hell, are you serious? Wow. That’s amazing, thank you so much,” he said.
“Wow. I’m a little bit shocked and shaking, to be honest.
“I didn’t expect to hear that when I answered the phone.
“Wow, thank you. It feels amazing to know that I’ll be a multi-millionaire. I don’t know what to say. My god.”
The man revealed he randomly chooses his numbers and never expected to win so big.
“I play regularly but not always Oz Lotto. I play something different every week and just grab a QuickPick. I never thought I’d win a prize like this,” he said.
“The first thing I’ll do is pay off the home loan. It will be done and dusted.
“My partner and I run our own business, and we’ve been working extremely hard at the moment to get it going. This will make it just much easier and take the pressure off.

“It will be great to cut back down on work a little bit. I’m sure my other half will convince me to take a holiday too!
“I’ve got a busy day ahead at work with clients so I can’t take the rest of the day off work. I’m going to call my partner right now and tell her the good news.
“She probably won’t believe me. We’ll definitely be getting takeaway tonight to celebrate.”
