Lotto back to base after Queensland woman won $10m prize last week
The lotto prize is back to a base after a young Queensland woman took home $10 million last week.
Oz Lotto has gone back to a base prize of $2 million for the Tuesday draw after a Queensland woman took home $10 million last week.
There have already been three Oz Lotto division one winners this year who have collectively taken home $60 million in prize money.
Two of those players were from Queensland and one was from Western Australia.
Last year, there were 18 Oz Lotto division one winning entries that collectively took home more than $279 million in prize money.
Six of these wins were in Victoria, five in NSW, three in Western Australia, two in Queensland and one each in South Australia and the Northern Territory.
A Queensland woman from a rural town in the state’s north nabbed last week’s whopping $10 million prize.
The woman, from Sarina in the Mackay region, was notified on Wednesday morning that she had won $10 million.
She held the only division one winning entry in last week’s Tuesday draw.
When receiving a call from the The Lott, the woman said she hadn’t had a chance to even look at the ticket yet as she was getting ready for work.
“Oh my god. Holy sh*t. That’s amazing. We’re multi-millionaires,” she said.
“My partner’s sitting beside me, and he’s heard what you’ve said too. He’s gobsmacked.
“This is a life-changing win for us. It’s come at the best time. We’ve had a tough few months, so this will help us so much.
“You dream of things like this happening, but you never imagine it actually happening.”
And in a surprise twist, she did something most Aussies might not do after learning they were a newly minted multi-millionaire.
She still went to work that morning.
The Lott’s Ally Ramsamy said only time would tell if Tuesday’s Oz Lotto prize would be won.

“Last week’s Oz Lotto division one prize was won by a young woman from Sarina who was still planning to go to work despite the exciting revelation,” she said.
“If someone scores division one in Tuesday’s draw they’d also get to decide if they continued to work or not. Regardless of what they choose to do, winning division one would be life-changing.
“We can’t wait to see if someone scores that jackpot prize in this week’s draw!”
