Cazalys million dollar Keno win

Somebody in Australia is sitting on a lottery ticket worth nearly $1.8 million and they don’t even know it.

The lucky player won the eye-watering jackpot in a Keno Classic 10 Spot game, defying the odds of nearly nine million to one to win.

The winning entry was purchased in draw 634 on Thursday night at the Twin Towns Juniors club in Tweed Heads South in NSW, just south of the Queensland border.

Their precise payout is a staggering $1,779,864.20, but the owner has yet to check their winning ticket and start the prize claim process.

Keno spokesperson James Eddy urged all players who purchased a Keno entry at Twin Towns Juniors to check their tickets as soon as possible.

“Someone could have walked out the venue with a winning ticket worth more than $1.7 million in their back pocket or handbag and may not have realised,” he said.

“Just think of all the exciting things you could do with an extra $1.7 million in the bank.”

Mr Eddy said, if you discover you’re the owner of the winning ticket, hold onto it tightly and head to your nearest Keno venue to begin the prize claim process.

Keno wins of this magnitude are very rare.

Unlike lotteries, Keno is structured to allow punters to choose how many numbers they play, which means many people opt for games with more favourable odds but much smaller payouts.

Each game, 20 numbers between 1 and 80 are drawn, which players match to the numbers on their entry.

To win a lottery-sized jackpot in a 10-spot Keno game, a punter has to throw caution to the wind and have all 10 of their numbers pop up in the same draw.
