Katharina Andresen misses the lavish life she had now she’s studying abroad
SHE’S one of the world’s youngest billionaires and a self-confessed “daddy’s girl”. But she says she’s doing it tough.
SHE’S the sister of the world’s youngest billionaire, and she describes herself as a “daddy’s girl” who misses her luxury digs now that she’s living in a student dorm.
Norwegian socialite Katharina Andresen, 20, makes no secret of the lavish life she is used to on her Instagram account, where she has shared photos of her five-star holidays and family home.
She has also posted many photos of herself partying with close friends while holidaying on luxury yachts across the world.
The sun-loving billionaire also shows off how she tops up her tan at the pool.
Katharina has recently moved abroad to study at Amsterdam University College, where she has told of her difficulties in settling into student life.
In posting this photograph of her dorm room, she told of how she missed her big room, pop art, clothes and shoes. She also criticised her accommodation, calling the dorms “small” and “sh**ty”.
In another photo she said it was “quite small” but her mother “made the best of it”.
Dressed in one of her chic designer outfits, she also tagged this Instagram selfie with the hashtag #studentlifesucks
Katharina and her sister Alexandra, 19, inherited their $1.2bn fortune from their wealthy father, Johan F. Andresen.
He transferred his stake in Norway’s biggest tobacco company, Ferd Holdings, to his daughters in 2007 — each receiving 42.2 per cent, which was recently made public.
The Andresen heiresses took out the 1475th spot on Forbes magazine’s 2016 list of the world’s billionaires.
On her Instagram, she describes herself and her sister as a “killer team”.
Katharina also regularly shares photos of the fine wine and expensive taste she and her friends have.
They like to indulge in Foie Gras, champagne and canapés.
Alongside a picture from Amsterdam airport, she wrote: “Is it allowed to say that I’m 75 per cent student?”
But despite finding the crampt dorm life of a student hard to adjust to, she maintains studying abroad was the “right decision” for her, even if she still tags photos saying she is “homesick”.
After growing up in a wealthy home near Oslo’s biggest park, Andresen is now reportedly studying social science.
She has given followers a glimpse of her family life, with pictures posted of her grandmother’s home at Christmas time.
Katharina’s sister Alexandra is a dressage competitor, and both sisters share a passion for horses.
While Alexandra is focused on training to compete in the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics, Katharina still posts about her love for riding horses and competing at different championships.
She has won several awards on her horse Belamour at the European Junior Riders Championships.
When asked about her family wealth, she said money does not always guarantee success.
“I feel a great responsibility. In a way I think that I have not made me deserving of this, while I want to help develop Ferd and make it even better,” she said.
“Finding a way to give something back, I think is difficult. The fact that my family has resources has given me many opportunities, especially in the riding, because it requires a lot of capital.
“But it is not enough to have money to succeed.”
