Incredible Lotto win for young Sydney couple who won half a million a few years ago
A lucky couple who picked up an eye-watering half a million dollars a few ago have had another lucky win.
A couple has won $100,000 on the Lotto, a few years after winning an eye-watering half a million dollars.
The couple from Yagoona, in southwest Sydney, won the 1st prize of $100,0000 on January 15 this year.
“I still have a bottle of champagne from our last major lottery win,” the husband said.
“My wife won about half a million dollars years a few years ago now.”
He described it as “incredible”.
“We’ve been pretty fortunate with The Lott,” he said.
“I’ll be able to give the money to my son to help him with a house deposit so he can own a home.”
His winning entry of one random number was purchased online.
It comes as a Brisbane man won $1.2 million over the weekend in Saturday’s Gold Lotto.
“My wife was doing some weeding in the garden and the expression on her face when she saw me barrelling towards her was pure shock,” the man said.
“I said, ‘give me a hug, I think I just won Saturday Gold Lotto’.
“We’ve popped the champagne and celebrated already, but I’m sure there’ll be more to come.
“It’ll set us up for the rest of our lives and we’re so grateful.”
Across Australia, there were four division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4433 – three in New South Wales and one in Queensland.
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now a cool $11.8 million for draw 1642, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $8.43 million for draw 10825.
