Hunt for mystery Tasmanian TattsLotto winner with $1.3 million prize

One Australian is starting the week $1.3 million richer - they just don’t know it yet, and the hunt is on to find them.

The hunt is on for a mystery Lotto winner who stands to take home almost $1.3 million – but they just don’t know it yet.

The TattsLotto player bought their ticket in Tasmania, and went on to claim the winning entry in one of the four divisions drawn across Australia on Saturday, each with a prize of $1,264,652.43.

The ticket was purchased at a newsagency in Bicheno, a beachside town on Tasmania’s east coast, but was not registered to a player card.

Unfortunately for the winner, it means The Lott have no way of notifying them, and instead need to wait for them to check their ticket and come forward.

The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said he was eager to find the winner.

“It’s likely our latest winner is going about their day as normal with no idea they’ve won division one,” he said.

“We’re urging all players who purchased a TattsLotto ticket from Bicheno Newsagency to check their tickets today.

“Make sure you check your ticket, which could be in your wallet, handbag, fridge door or car glovebox because the winner could be you.”

In Tasmania, payers have one year to claim their lottery prize, and after that must claim directly from the Tasmania treasury and finance office.
