An Aussie granddad has admitted it’s “business as usual” after he won the lottery, since he has “very few problems”.
The man’s frank admission came after he won $1.7 million in Saturday’s Tattslotto draw as one of six division one entries.
He expressed disbelief at becoming a millionaire overnight, but admitted it will make little difference to him personally.
Instead, the Wangaratta resident said he plans to share the prize with his family.
“I’ve been retired for a little while and there’s very few problems in my life, but any worries or stress have completely left my body now,” he explained.
“I’ve got a couple of kids and grandchildren, and I can’t wait to let them know. I’m going to change their lives.”
“For me, it’ll be business as usual. It’s going to make my life a lot easier and ensure I can relax for the foreseeable future,” he added.
The man also joked that the win meant he will have to tackle some odd jobs around the house he had been avoiding.
“There are also a few things around the house that need to be done but I’ve been putting those off. Looks like I’ve got no excuse now,” he said.
His winning ticket was purchased from local newsagent Wangaratta Lotto Card & Tobacconist, where balloons were strung up to celebrate.
Another three division one entries were won on Saturday in Victoria, two in WA and one in NSW.
The winning numbers were 2, 1, 30, 28, 24 and 23, while the supplementary numbers were 39 and 29.
The man’s total prize was $1,745,043.22.
“You never expect something like this to happen to you and when it does it floors you!” he exclaimed.
