Aussie battler wins more than $1.6m in Saturday Gold Lotto
A struggling Aussie woman has had a huge win in Saturday’s Gold Lotto and revealed what she’d use the money for.
A struggling Aussie woman was shocked after receiving a phone call confirming she’d won more than $1.5m in the lottery.
The woman from Gayndah in Queensland held one of three division one winning tickets in Saturday’s Gold Lotto and took home a whopping $1,691,043.
When she got the call confirming her win, she was shocked.
“Oh my god! Thank you! I really needed some confirmation,” she told a spokesperson from The Lott.
“I discovered my win on Sunday morning and spent the day doing absolutely nothing because I was so stunned.”
She said she hadn’t had it easy, and the win would make a huge difference.
“This is going to change everything. It hasn’t been easy for us but now it makes everything we’ve gone through worthwhile,” the woman said.
“I can’t get over it! You never expect anything like this to happen to you.”
With her winnings, she said she’d be heading out to buy a shed.
The woman bought her winning ticket at the Gayndah Newsagency, with staff over the moon about her success.
“We can’t believe it! It’s fantastic to know we played a part in changing the life of one of our customers,” a staff member said.
“We’ll be celebrating all week and for quite some time to follow, I reckon.
“The whole community is a buzz and the belief that you can really win division one is spreading.
“Congratulations to our winner and we hope they have a wonderful future.”
