Oz Lotto is offering Australian lottery players the chance to become a multi-millionaire with a $2 million jackpot up for grabs on Tuesday night.

Last week’s lottery jackpot was snared by a NSW man from Queanbeyan, just outside Canberra, who solely took home more than $5.5 million.

In 2021, there were 18 Oz Lotto division one wins that collectively took home more than $279 million in division one prize money.

Six of these wins were in Victoria, five in NSW, three in Western Australia, two in Queensland and one each in South Australia and the Northern Territory.

It comes as historical data shows that Autumn — the season we are currently one month into — reaps the highest amount of division one prizes for lottery entrants.

Data analysis has found autumn delivers more division one wins in Oz Lotto than any other season in 2021.

Last year’s autumn saw six division one winning entries collectively take home more than $85 million in prize money.

The second successful season was winter, where saw five participants won more than $51 million.

Autumn is already off to a strong start this year, with two division one winning entries scoring more than $16.5 million.

Both of these division one winning entries were held by regional NSW players, including a woman from Nabiac who thanked her last-minute decision to grab an Oz Lotto entry for her prize of more than $11 million.

“The other day, I was at the shops when I walked past an Oz Lotto sign and decided to buy an entry. So, it was completely last minute. It’s crazy,” the Nabiac woman told lottery officials earlier this month.

“I was driving home when my son called me and told me to check my lottery ticket, as he’d heard there was a mystery winner from town.

“When I got home, I did the house cleaning, and then I remembered to check my ticket. I couldn’t believe it. I had to pinch myself to see if it was a dream.

“I was shaking and crying so much. I felt so much joy; I could barely contain it!”

The other entry was held by a Queanbeyan man who ended his working day with a “bang” after discovering he won more than $5.5 million.

“I just need to take a breath. It’s been such an emotional day. I’ve laughed, cried, yelled, spoken to my family, who were just as excited as me. This is amazing!” he said.

“We all need this right now. When I found out, I was at work and had to leave the office and compose myself for a few minutes.

“I’m about to be debt-free for the first time in my adult life. My parents are about to be debt-free and can buy a new car. This completely changes my life.”
