FORGET the fat beats, pimped-out watches and gold chains — the humble cowboy hat is back in vogue.

In a time when a 22-year-old is getting famous making music in his bedroom, it’s comforting to know there’s still a place for the classics.

According to Forbes’ ‘Country Cash Kings’ list, country musicians are beginning to outpace the biggest names in mainstream pop music.

In 2013, the number two best-selling artist, second only to Justin Timberlake, was ‘Crash My Party’ singer Luke Bryan.

Despite pulling in a hefty $34 million last year, Bryan was well behind the top earner, singer-songwriter Toby Keith, who topped Forbes’ list with a whopping $65 million.

Taylor Swift came a close second with $64 million, with Kenny Chesney trailing on $44 million.

Perhaps it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise — Dolly Parton, the queen of country herself, has an estimated net worth of $450 million.
