THE oldest white supremacist site on the internet has been shut down after a complaints that it promoted hatred, racism and violence.

1. SYDNEY — The Australian market looks set to open flat, after Wall Street’s key indexes closed little changed with investors concerned over the impact of Hurricane Harvey. At 0700 AEST on Tuesday, the share price futures index was up one point, or 0.02 per cent, at 5,679.

2. SYDNEY — The Australian dollar continues to surge against its US counterpart which has weakened by Janet Yellen’s monetary policy omission, and the impact of Harvey. The local currency was trading at 79.70 US cents at 0700 AEST on Tuesday, from 79.38 on Monday.

3. BIRMINGHAM, Alabama — The internet’s oldest white supremacist site has been shut down after a company revoked its domain name following complaints that it promotes hatred and is linked to dozens of murders. Don Black, a former Ku Klux Klan leader who has operated stormfront.org since 1995, said he didn’t receive any warning before Network Solutions blocked the use of the stormfront.org name on Friday. The Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law said the stormfront.org shutdown followed complaints it filed with Network Solutions alleging the site promotes not only hate speech, but deadly violence.

3. WASHINGTON, DC — President Donald Trump says hurricane recovery efforts will be very expensive and he will talk to the US Congress about it as he prepares for a trip to the storm zone.

4. FRANKFURT — Damage from Hurricane Harvey’s ravaging of Houston and the Texas Gulf Coast is estimated to be well below those from the major storms that hit New Orleans and New York in recent years, insurance executives say.

5. BRUSSELS — The European Union’s chief negotiator Michel Barnier is concerned at the slow progress of Brexit talks, while his British counterpart David Davis is calling for “imagination and flexibility” to move on.

6. NEW YORK CITY — Apple is reportedly set to unveil the latest iPhone next month, according to the Wall Street Journal.

7. NEW YORK — Facebook boss Mark Zuckerberg and his wife are welcoming a new daughter in a post — where else — on Facebook.
