1. SYDNEY — The Australian dollar is higher against the greenback, again lifting above 76 US cents. At 0635 AEDT on Tuesday, the local unit was trading at 76.03 US cents, up from75.96 cents on Monday.

2. SYDNEY — The Australian market looks set to open higher following gains on Wall Street after Democrat Hillary Clinton was widely seen as the winner of the second presidential debate. At 0645 AEDT on Tuesday, the share price index was up 19 points at 5,479.

3. LUXEMBOURG — Eurozone finance ministers have given their go-ahead for Greece to be granted 1.1 billion euros ($A1.6 billion) in bailout aid, while holding back on a further 1.7 billion euros until Athens clears outstanding arrears.

4. WASHINGTON — Billionaire investor Warren Buffett has denied an allegation by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump that he, like Trump, had taken “a massive deduction” that allowed him to avoid federal income taxes.

5. BRUSSELS — The EU regulator investigating whether Alphabet unit Google is abusing its market power has not extended its scrutiny to the tech giant’s tax deals with national authorities across Europe, the bloc’s antitrust chief says.

6. LONDON — Britain will have leverage in talks with the European Union over so-called “passporting” rights, which allow financial services to be sold into the EU states from London, Brexit minister David Davis has told parliament.

7. COPENHAGEN — Prime Minister Theresa May says she hopes Britain’s exit from the EU will be a smooth process and she expects to guarantee the rights of EU citizens already in Britain.
