SYDNEY — The Australian market looks set to open lower following Wall Street’s decline as investors take a dim view of the latest turbulence surrounding the Trump administration along with geopolitical tensions emanating from Asia. At 0702 AEDT on Tuesday, the share price futures index was down seven points at 5,721.

2. SYDNEY — Meanwhile, the Australian dollar is up against its US counterpart. The local currency was trading at 75.86 US cents at 0702 AEDT on Tuesday, from 75.81 on Monday.

3. JAKARTA — Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull will continue talks on trade and security when he lands in Jakarta and meets with other Indian Ocean leaders.

4. PARIS — French carmaker PSA — which produces Peugeot and Citroen — has agreed to take over General Motors’ (GM) Opel unit in a deal worth 2.2 billion euros ($A3 billion).
