THE Australian market looks set to open flat with little to lead it with US and British markets closed due to public holidays. At 0703 AEST on Tuesday, the share price futures index was down four points, or 0.07 per cent, at 5,709.

Meanwhile, the Australian dollar is hardly changed against a steady US counterpart with northern American traders absent on the Memorial Day public holiday. The local currency was trading at 74.39 US cents at 0703 AEST on Tuesday, from 74.30 on Monday.
