Elon Musk plans to open 24-hour diner and charging station
The world’s richest person has big plans to enter the hospitality industry with plans submitted to get the ambitious project underway.
Tesla has reportedly filed plans for a mega 24-hour diner and drive-in theatre that would double as a charging station for electric vehicles.
The billion-dollar company submitted documents on May 19 to the City of Los Angeles for a Tesla diner on the popular Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywood.

The architectural plans submitted for approval show a two-storey diner with over 200 seats, alongside 28 supercharging stations, Bloombergreports.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk tweeted about his plans back in 2018 for a retro-themed dining experience.
“Gonna put an old school drive-in, rollerskates & rock restaurant at one of the new Tesla Supercharger locations in LA,” he tweeted.
Musk said a “futuristic diner / drive-in theatre” was planned for the Hollywood area, and reassured customers they could pay with bitcoin.
“And, of course, you can pay in Doge,” he tweeted.
The 24-hour dining location will reportedly include two LED movie screen and meals will be delivered directly to customers in their cars.
However, there are no further details on when the diner will open, or the potential menu.
If the Supercharger restaurant is approved by the city, it would replace the family friendly pizza restaurant chain Shakey’s Pizza.
The plans come after the electric vehicle company plunged by 6.42 per cent on the stock market on Friday, then on Monday local time, Tesla shares fell by around 2 per cent.
Tesla’s total losses represent around $US558.19 billion ($A790 billion) wiped off the Tesla’s market capitalisation since November last year.
Some commentators believe supply chain issues, competition from rivals and controversies Elon Musk has become embroiled in have further spooked investors.
