THE Australian dollar is slightly higher on this morning as the market awaits any further news on the eurozone debt crisis.

THE Australian dollar is slightly higher on this morning as the market awaits any further news on the eurozone debt crisis.

At 6.30am (AEDT), the local unit was trading at 101.92 US cents, up from 101.89 cents yesterday.

The Australian dollar started the week at 97.39 US cents and has so far gained more than four US cents this week on the back of encouraging move to contain government debt problems in Europe.

This morning, Australian time, China is due to release its September inflation data.
