At 0645 AEDT on Tuesday, the December share price index futures contract was up 59 points at 5,189.
Locally, in economic news on Tuesday, the Reserve Bank of Australia holds its monthly board meeting and releases its interest rate decision.
Meanwhile, the Dun and Bradstreet business expectations survey is released, as is the ANZ-Roy Morgan weekly consumer confidence survey.
No major equities news is expected.
In Australia, the market on Monday was dragged down by Australia’s biggest companies as global investors steer away from risk assets.
The benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was down 73.6 points, or 1.4 per cent, at 5,165.8.
The broader All Ordinaries index was down 67.4 points, or 1.27 per cent, at 5,221.3.
