A HOME in China that’s notoriously crippled traffic on a busy road has finally been demolished — ending a 14-year battle with its owners who’ve refused to have it torn down.

It took just 90 minutes to demolish the so-called “nail house,” which sits in the middle of a four-lane road in Shanghai, according to the BBC.

The home’s stubborn owners have refused every offer since 2003 to have the house bulldozed to make way for road development but took a compensation package for about $517,000.

Its inconvenient presence forced the road to squeeze down to two lanes so traffic could get by.

The towering abode is known as a “nail house” — a colloquial term in China for homes belonging to people who refuse to give way to new real-estate construction.
