Aussie billionaire seen out and about in Sydney
Some fresh photos of a very successful figure hanging out in Sydney have emerges, with one key detail standing out.
Billionaires are not known for being subtle, and some new photos of Aussie businessman Peter Freedman prove he is no exception.
The 66-year-old was spotted stepping into his Rolls Royce in Sydney and he was looking both colourful and important.
The billionaire stood out as he jumped into his premium car, which would retail between $600,000 and $1 millions.
The icing on the ritzy cake is that the Rolls has personalised number plates reading Rode, the name of his billion-dollar company, of course.
So basically it would be like if fellow billionaire Elon Musk had a car with number plates that read ‘Tesla’.
Mr Freedman also stood out because he embraced the colour saturation trend, wearing a light blue jumper and bright blue shorts.
He also added a pop of yellow with his shirt choice.
To add a touch of cool, he was also rocking some TopGun esque aviator sunglasses.
Mr Freedman was born in Sweden, but moved to Australia when he was in primary school and was raised in Sydney’s inner west.
He grew up in Summer Hill, where his beloved dad Henry ran an audio repair shop that sadly closed in the 90s.
The heartbreak of that didn’t stop the businessman, though, who went on to found Rode, the now-iconic microphone company.
His exact net worth is hard to estimate, but according to Forbes, he is worth more than $1.5 billion, mostly thanks to Rode.
The success of his company has turned Mr Freedman into a global leader in audio technology and one of Australia’s most successful business people.
In 2023 he disclosed to Forbes that, while he does not like to discuss exact figures, Rode was still booming and growing.
“We’re making about $100 million profit a year, and that’s growing. The company is now worth a little over $1.5 billion. And that’s growing too,” he said.
The billionaire doesn’t just make music equipment; he is also a huge music collector.
He most famously purchased a guitar owned by the late and great Kurt Cobain for $9 million in 2020.
It has been a busy year for the billionaire, having put his five-bedroom, four-bathroom Potts Pott mansion, which has heritage charm and sweeping ocean views, on the market in October.
He purchased it in 2023 for a cool $30 million.
There is no price guide displayed on the current listing.
The property is described as, an “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create a bespoke home of unmatched scale, elegance, and individuality in one of Sydney’s most coveted precincts”.

The property is on the main drag of Potts Point, so right near all the shops, but also pretty private once you’re inside the gates.
Mr Freedman is quite a fan of Potts Point, and also owns an incredible penthouse with sweeping water views, which he procured for $16 million in 2018, a suburb record at the time.
That three-bedroom apartment is described as a space that is flooded with natural light that enjoys uninterrupted sweeping views of Sydney Harbour.
